Here is an example of using Red Rosin Paper as a substrate. Marty Fast an excellent life drawing instructor at Allen Hancock College introduced me to the stuff 'cause I liked to draw very large in her class. Later, I took a class with Lynne Perella who also touted its versatility. I started with gesso then acrylic, a layer of collaged papers and next tape and shapes cut from contact paper. Another layer of acrylic and then some stencils using Oil Paint Stixs. The photos aren't that great due to the metallic nature of the paints used, but you get the idea. This was a joy to create.
